London Elections in May 2021

We are campaining hard for the London Assembly and Mayor of London Elections on Thursday 6th May 2021.  This election is held under a fair voting system so every vote counts, which makes it one of the most important election campaigns the Greens can fight.  Sian Berry is our candidate for the Mayor of London and is fighting on an excellent manifesto.

London Assembly members are elected using the Additional Member system. You vote once for your constituency member and once for a London-wide representative. Andree Frieze is standing in London South West.

Tactical voting was a factor and we got good results in both Feltham and Heston and Brentford and Isleworth .

Jon Elkon stood in the Heston West By Election.

Ioanna-Simona Voicila stood in the Feltham North By Election.

2018 Local Elections

The Green Party are grateful to Hounslow's voters for their tremendous support at the local elections on 3rd May 2018.   With 15,599 votes compared to 8,336 votes in 2014, the Greens polled 7,263 more votes than ever before in a Hounslow council election.

Once again, the Greens lost out because of the unfair “First Past the Post” electoral system.  It took 2,112 votes to elect each Labour Councillor, 6,365 each Conservative Councillor but with 15,599 votes the Green Party is not allowed even one voice in Hounslow's Council Chamber.  With proportional representation, the Greens should have had 4 councillors.
