Hounslow Greens March for People’s Vote

23 March 2019

Activists from Hounslow Green Party joined an estimated one million marching through London on the afternoon of 23rd March 2019 to demand a People’s Vote on Brexit.  The marchers demanded simply that any Brexit deal is put the people so that we can have the final say.

There was a large Green Party contingent on the March, and also activists from the Liberal Democrats and Labour parties, as well as many marching independently of any political party.  The marchers came from the whole country.

The march was good natured, even though many marchers had to wait a long time before being allowed to start for the march because of the large numbers.

Caroline LucasCaroline Lucas, the Leader of the Green Party who spoke at the march said “All of us know so much more now than we did in 2016, and a People's Vote would be your first chance to vote on the facts. We're going to have to live with the consequences of this decision for decades to come, and it will affect young people most of all. So let's just be sure - let's vote on this together as a country. Don't leave it to the Westminster elite to decide for you.”

“We're being let down by a Tory government that's driving through a dangerous Brexit.
