Greens are delighted that the linked planning applications to develop the Tesco and Homebase sites in the vicinity of Syon Lane will be subject to a public inquiry.

Hounslow Council have received a letter from the goverment telling them that the Secretary of State, Michael Gove, has decided to ‘call in’ the two developments meaning that a public inquiry.

Stephen Clark the Green Party candidate for Brentford West Ward said "We are proud to have worked with the Osterley and Wyke Green Residents Association (OWGRA) in their campaign against Hounslow Council's approval of the entirely inappropriate Tesco's and Homebase Developments".

"The Green Party is delighted that the Minister has called both developments in for a Public Inquiry before they can go ahead. Its disappointing that the Inquiry will be in Bristol, next year, making it difficult for residents to appear in person and give their views. But, we do hope that the decision willl set a precedent for a number of other excessively large, and environmentally damaging, developments lined up for the Brentford area."
