Hounslow Green Party have selected Anthony Agius to stand in the new ward of Syon and Brentford Lock in the Hounslow local elections in May 2022.
Anthony is an experienced campaigner and has always supported improvements to cycling, walking and public transport, and the protection of open spaces. He joined with the " Save Our Rec " group of local residents who opposed plans to build a school on Brent Lea Recreation ground. He has his own allotment at Park Road in Isleworth and joined the successful campaign to stop the Duke of Northumberland building eighty flats on the allotments.
Anthony provides care for elderly and vulnerable individuals. He enjoys singing and performs in local choirs and amateur dramatic groups. He lives near the river in Isleworth.
Stephen Clark, the Green Party candidate for Brentford West in next year’s local elections, said “Anthony’s links to the local community and his record of successful environmental campaigns means he will be an excellent candidate. Good luck to him in the next election!”
