Gurpal Sindhar to stand for Greens in Cranford

16 December 2021

Hounslow Green Party have selected Gurpal Sindhar to stand in the Cranford Ward in the Hounslow local elections in May 2022.  Gurpal decided to stand as he believes Hounslow needs Green Party councillors who will listen to local residents and help deliver the changes residents would like to see to improve the area.

Gurpal SindharGurpal worries about climate change caused by our carbon emissions and avoids flying where possible.  Gurpal believes that green climate initiatives like increased renewable energy and home insulation will benefit everyone.  He is proud that he has planted two apple trees and recognises that we all need to do much more.  Gurpal joined the campaign for a local bus lane along the Bath Road between the Jolly Waggoner and McDonald’s roundabouts.

Gurpal has marched to show solidarity with refugees fleeing persecution.  He believes that demonising refugees and refusing to help those in distressing circumstances reduces our standing in the world.

Gurpal has lived in Cranford for over 15 years.  He is proud that he helps people in their day to day lives by working in the public sector.  He has served as a special constable in Hounslow and is currently a governor of a local school for children with special learning needs.

Stephen Clark, the Green Party candidate for Brentford West in next year’s local elections, said “I am incredibly pleased that Gurpal has been selected to stand for the Greens in Cranford.  I am sure that as a councillor he will be more involved in local affairs and listen to local residents better that the present incumbents.”
