Mary Ellen

Mary-Ellen lives in Hounslow and is a tireless campaigner for the rights of disabled people to lead normal lives.  Recently Mary-Ellen has been protesting to “Kill the Bill” against the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (PSCS) Bill Nationality and Borders Bill (NABB).  The PSCS plans to introduce a range of anti-protest measures, and will disproportionately impact Black, Asian and minority ethnic people.  The Nationality and Borders Bill (NABB), contains a clause that could strip individuals of their British citizenship without warning.

Mary-Ellen comments on her protest “We are all at risk.  Our rights, liberties and freedoms and lives are at risk. It's time to KILL THE BILL and stop this government's attack on our people, peace, and planet, on our right to protest and on our right to hold our representatives to account.”

“I am 'clinically extremely vulnerable' and have been 'shielding', but today, my concern about the NABB, and about the PCSC Bill, outweighed my fears for my own health and life and I ventured forth to give out KILL THE BILL official fliers and to raise awareness about these racist and anti-democratic bills, that damage civil liberties and violate Human Rights”

“I am proud to be standing for the Green Party and applaud the efforts of Jenny Jones and Natalie Bennett, the two Green party members of the House of Lords, who have been working hard to defeat these bills.  Only the greens can be trusted to stand up for our human rights and protect the planet.”
