Dave Wetzel to stand in Bedfont for Greens

Hounslow Green Party have selected Dave Wetzel to stand in the Bedfont ward in the Hounslow local elections in May 2022.

Dave Wetzel is a Green Socialist who supports CND to build a peaceful world, a free democratic Palestine to start building peace in the Middle East, annual Land Value Tax to address poverty and unemployment, as well as the Green's essential policies to save our planet from climate change and pollution.

He has stood twice before in the Bedfont ward in 1985 and 1986 and was socialist leader of Hounslow Council from 1987-1991.  A former Heathrow Airport shop steward and editor of Civil Aviation News he was also a governor of Bedfont Primary School and served on the management committee of the David Henry Waring Home for elderly residents at Bedfont Green.

Apart from land campaigning (Dave is Vice-Chair of the Coalition for Economic Justice and a former President of the International Union for Land Value Tax) his main political activity is now Green Party campaigning and has been to improve transport in London as Chair of the former Greater London Council's Transport Committee for five years, President of London University's Transport Studies Society, Chair of London Buses and the first Vice-Chair of Transport for London for eight years.
