Freya Summersgill for Syon & Brentford Lock
As a local resident with a young family, I want to continue to build a stronger community where children thrive. I have volunteered with youth groups for more than 20 years, encouraging them to be an active part of their local community and to promote self-confidence and independence.
I have been actively campaigning for environmental issues since childhood and will advocate the urgent local actions needed to prevent and adapt to the climate crisis. I have a PhD in civil engineering and I am passionate about designing sustainable buildings suitable for net zero construction. I use my professional knowledge and experience to respond to local developments, council policies and plans.
I have lived in Brentford for 8 years, although several generations of my family have lived in Hounslow. I joined the Green Party in 2014 when I still lived in Ealing. I became an activist after years campaigning for environmental causes and community action, the opportunity to volunteer with like minded people to improve where we live.
I am currently Membership Secretary and Safeguarding Officer with Hounslow Green Party and I have stood and actively campaigned in Brentford by-elections and the 2024 General Election.

My background is in business delivery and innovation, and I am also a qualified teacher with a special interest in AI and social development.
